This goose was classified as a sub-species of the extremely variable Canada Goose, but was recently separated into its own species. The rapid, high-pitched cackles and diminutive size of the species easily distinguish it from its larger relatives.

Weight: Male: 1.8Kg Female: 1.4Kg
Eggs: 3-5 Incubation: 24 days
Range: Breeds in Alaska, winters in southern North America
